Dr. Masih Shahlaie is SMILELOUNGE’s board-certified periodontist, treating patients in-house alongside the general dentistry team. He earned his dental degree in 1996 from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, then completed his postgraduate specialty in Periodontics and a Master of Science at Loma Linda University in 2001.
Dr. Shahlaie has served as an assistant professor at Loma Linda University and as an examiner for the Arizona State Board for Oral Sedation Licensure — depth that shows in how he approaches gum health, grafting, and implant placement at SMILELOUNGE today.

Dr. Shahlaie brings a steady, unhurried approach to periodontal care, treating patients alongside SMILELOUNGE’s general dentistry team rather than as a separate referral. That coordination means gum health and restorative planning happen together, not in two disconnected offices.
Outside the office, Dr. Shahlaie plays soccer and tennis and enjoys cooking, a hands-on, detail-focused streak that carries over into his approach to precise periodontal and implant work.
